What is Practical Soul Care Counseling?
There are over 200 psychomodalities and variations therefrom available today, making it very challenging to select which method would be the better treatment for a particular person’s mental health issue. However, there are potentially only around 20 that are conducive to a Christian counselor’s application, if they are to follow biblical principles. I would like to introduce to you yet one more that I believe allows for good biblical applications but is critical regarding two parts not generally utilized or even welcomed in traditional mental health counseling or therapy.

Pastor Mike Schill, Psy.D.
Dr. Mike Schill holds a Psy.D. degree in clinical psychology. He has functioned as a paramedic, has been a juvenile officer for a sheriffs dept., served as a psychiatric technician, social worker, marriage and family counselor, probation counselor, pastor, and a referral source for Freedom in Christ Ministries. He was the director of the Wellness Center and an adjunct professor at Simpson University and A.W. Tozer Seminary for over twenty-five years. Mike continues to teach selected courses at Tozer Seminary and is a consultant to pastors, church pastoral ministry teams, and Christian clinicians.
Forty-five years of education, training, and growth of experience in the above capacities has provided Dr. Schill the unique opportunity to be well acquainted with the body, soul, and spirit with which God endowed mankind.
Mike has been married for over fifty years to his bride Patricia; they have two children, a son and a daughter. He has also been blessed with three grandchildren. Mike and Pat currently reside in Idaho, having recently moved from Redding, California.
Dr. Schill’s passion is counseling and equipping others to educate and train brothers and sisters in Christ, to become unentangled from the bondages of our Enemy, and ultimately free to live the Christ filled life Jesus came and gave to us.
